Had to take a ride to Johnson Woolen Mills, for matching outfits, perfect for a peaceful morning watching ducks on the pond...
I sure wish that I could get this article in a link. I think it's one of the best stories written about the pet program. Thanks Ruthie Laroche from the County Courier.
I have to share an email response that I got this week by the veteran who is in the picture when I asked him how things were going with Banana;
"Banana is moody as ever. We're in our twos, and, the struggle is real. She currently has "her" platform on one of the towers at school (Gulliver's). I injured my leg this summer so we spent most of our time at Mills River Park. She gets to socialize with other dogs, and I get to meet other dog owners. As it turns colder we've had to do more indoor activities. She thinks the living room is a raquetball court for her toys.
I am extremely grateful for her presence. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night without her being near me. On days when I am unable to be social, or afraid to go out amongst others, she is there, always ready to play. I confide everything to her. People stare at us arguing in the Jeep! (She has her own ways of winning arguments btw).
This Christmas she is getting a new downstairs bed, a sqeaky chicken, and a collar that has a work tie so she can dress up for school!
Thank you all so much for such an amazing gift!
Be well," ... ExpandSee Less
Such an amazing organization! You are doing such great work!
Wow!! Really cool!!
I’m a mental health therapist & my rescue dog Josie is being trained to get certified as a therapy dog. The sense of comfort, grounding, acceptance & connection she offers my clients is it’s own kind of therapy. Grateful to have her as my therapeutic side kick! 💗

We had our two service dogs in training graduate today, they were both in training for quite awhile (since 2016) and were ready to get their vest on and go home, it was a long day for them but they both did very well during the meeting and ceremony. We are so grateful for the contracted trainers, the puppy raiser and especially the Essex Rotary for all of their support to help our veterans. ~ more photos to follow at a later date 🙂 ... Great program, and great picture!
Is there a veteran looking for a nice pal? Buddy is looking for his fur-ever loving home. He's a very loving boy but does get excited over things so he'll need some good manners training which we will take care of.
He is a wonderful 5 year old dog that needs a new home, he just wants to be someone's best Buddy. He's really smart, very affectionate and a lot of fun. He gets along fine with other dogs but seems to want to hurt smaller dogs. He weighs about 45 to 48 lbs. We believe that he has been in Vermont for his entire life and has lived with a family for 8 months. He was rescued him from an outdoor cage in which he had been abandoned in the winter time. His owners moved away and left him behind. He is neutered and up to date on his vetting. If you or someone you know are interested in meeting Buddy please email our pet coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If a non-veteran is interested by all means please let us know, he can go with any loving adopter. <3 ... ExpandSee Less
What’s the breed and is he good around kids
how much is it to adopt
PLEASE RESCUE BUDDY....he needs a new home right away. His owners can no longer keep him and he'll have to go to the pound. He's such a beautiful boy, he doesn't deserve that!
I see the name Daniel Wright here. Is Daniel someone who needs a dog? Buddy has to go to the pound on Tuesday if we don't have a home for him. I hate to send this beautiful boy to a cage like that. He just wants to be someone's best friend.

Beautiful day for it !
This two year old boys Esau needs to find a foster home ASAP, his mommy is in need of getting back on her feet and needs to have a place that he can stay where she can come visit him and take him when she can until she gets settled back into Vermont, a Chittenden County home would be great.
He is a bit eager and may need some guidance, he hasn’t been around cats and is a bit antsy at first with other dogs. The best place for him would be where there is a nice fenced in yard and no small children in the household. He is up to date on his veterinarian care, he is potty trained but may be fearful at first.
Please email our pet coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org if you or somebody you know can foster this handsome boy. ~ Thank you in advance. ... ExpandSee Less
