Pet Program

Comfort Dogs

We furnish comfort dogs for veterans free of charge.

We adopt suitable shelter dogs, provide good manners training for the dogs by carefully chosen foster home / force-free trainers.

We help provide veterinary service assistance, food, other pet needs and follow up to assist the veteran with any issues they may have with these dogs.

Pet Fostering

We also offer pet fostering for veterans who need pet care for any reason such as deployment, hospital stays, medical issues, etc.

There are various organizations that work hand in hand with us to help assist veterans with their pet needs.

Please contact us for assistance or questions regarding veteran pet needs.

Self-training service dog program

We recently started our self-training service dog program for veterans free of charge.  We adopt suitable shelter puppies.  We carefully choose puppy raisers to work with our contracted force-free trainers to teach them the job of becoming a service dog for veterans who suffer from PTSD.

When the trainers feel the dog is ready to transition to their job with a pre-screened and approved veteran, they stay on with the same dog and work with the veteran until they feel they are ready to certify them as their service dog. This process takes a minimum of 18 months for the proper training and certification approved by the  Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), International Association of Assistance Dog Partners (IAADP), etc.

Ten-Hut!

I'm really good at training.  It's a lot of fun, I work with great people - they will help me find my forever match.

I love taking trips and meeting people!  They respect that I'm in training, too, and let me work.  Play time comes later.
